Toshiba SD5010 DVD Player

Toshiba SD5010 DVD PlayerIf you are in the market for a new or replacement DVD player, then you can’t go far wrong with the Toshiba SD5010. This is the 2010 top of the range player and has a host of features to help you get the maximum benefit out of your player, and your DVD collection.

From a looks perspective, the Toshiba SD5010 is an attractive device, and Toshiba have obviously decided not to give it the completely sleek look we’ve seen from other brands of late. Instead they’re gone for an almost moulded look on the player which makes it look more familiar, and yet modern at the same time. The green backlit display screen is small but easy to read and displays all the required information, and the three playback buttons are inset into the front of the fascia, next to the USB socket on the right. The Toshiba SD5010 is also a very slim device, which will make it easy to position and the looks should match your existing television well, whether it is a Toshiba or another brand.

The features on the Toshiba SD5010 include the now obligatory 1080p upscaling to give you near high definition quality from your standard DVD discs, and of course an HDMI socket on the rear as well as a scart socket. One of the nicest features with this player though is the inclusion of the USB socket on the front. This means you can plug in a USB stick, and view photos, listen to MP3 tracks, and watch DivX movies. Finally, if you do already own a Toshiba television, the Regza cheap fast soma link will enable you to use the same remote control as your TV.

What to consider…

This top of the range player offers everything you could need in a DVD player, but the Toshiba XD-E600 is also worth a look.
