LG BD570 Blu-ray Player

LGs latest range of Blu-ray players continue to impress – and with a fantastic range of features and the good looks of the BD570, it’s not hard to see why.

The LG BD570 is a sleek and attractive Blu-ray player with the LG logo on the left, and quite large Blu-ray and DLNA logos in the middle and right of the otherwise clean front fascia. As with the 3D ready LG BX580, the BD570 includes the familiar fold down flap design – that other brands seem to be leaving it behind in place of the traditional disc tray currently – to reveal playback buttons and a USB socket.

LG BD570 Blu-ray PlayerAround the back of the LG BD570 we have the standard HDMI and component video outputs as well as digital coaxial and optical audio outputs, and a LAN socket too if you are able to connect to a router, although the built in Wi-Fi is what most people will be looking for when they buy this player. The online capabilities of the LG BD570 Blu-ray player enable you to access LGs excellent NetCast service so you can access YouTube videos, yours and your friend’s photographs through Picasa and even the weather using the AccuWeather service.

As well as giving you the top quality from high definition Blu-ray the BD570 will also upscale DVD to near HD quality and it is also DLNA certified so you can use it to stream music, photos and movies from your PC or NAS drive too!

What to consider before you buy the LG BD570 Blu-ray Player

There is not a lot missing from the fully featured BD570, although a USB socket on the rear of the player as well as the front would have been useful.

Why you should buy the LG BD570 Blu-ray Player

For such a fully featured Blu-ray player, the BD570 is very keenly priced. However, when you consider that it also includes built in Wi-Fi then the LG starts to looks amazingly good value, and undercuts some of its rivals considerably to make it a very good buy. Rating: 4.5/5
