The Samsung UE40C5100 is the new 2010 model LED television and sits in Samsung’s ‘Series 5’ range of televisions. This range presents some of the best value deals in the whole Samsung LED television range and with features like full 1080p HD and built in Freeview HD, it’s not hard to see why.
Aesthetically, and like pretty much all the brands products, the Samsung UE40C5100 is an attractive looking device. Perhaps not as cutting edge in design, or as high quality looking as the Series 6 to Series 8 models, the UE40C5100 still manages to look as if it will age well with its simple lines and clean looks. The case size of the LED television is particularly impressive with an overall width of 972mm on this 40” model, and a height (on the stand) 596mm. However, if you’re buying an LED television you’re probably already sold on the miniscule depth of these types of sets, but the 2.9mm on this model is still amazing when you see it in the flesh.
The Samsung UE40C5100 has an impressive array of connection options with four HDMI sockets as well as component, scart, and Ethernet and two USB sockets for the online aspect of the television. This model does not come with the Internet@TV function, but it does have the ‘allshare’ feature where you can connect to your home PC or Samsung mobile and transfer photographs, video and music.
What to consider before you buy the Samsung UE40C5100 LED Television
It is lacking some of the features of the more expensive models in the Samsung LED range, so if you want the Internet@TV function, consider looking further up the range.
Why you should buy the Samsung UE40C5100 LED Television
A good value full HD LED television on it’s own, but the added bonus of Freeview HD makes the deal even sweeter. Rating: /5
