The Humax PVR9300T is a the bigger brother to the popular 9150T, and whilst you get all the same benefits there are also some essential additions which make it a serious device for the power user.
From an aesthetic point of view the Humax PVR-9300T has a slightly sleeker and more modern look over its younger brother, with a clearer full dot matrix display adding to its more serious ambitions. The front flap folds down to allow access to some essential menu buttons and a slot for Top Up TV cards. It’s at the rear of the recorder though that the biggest visual differences, and some of the main selling points of the player, become clear. In addition to the two scart sockets you’ll also find audio phono sockets, an optical output and an HDMI socket. These extra connection options allow you to connect the 9300 to your television using a superior HDMI cable and also connect the player to a home cinema amplifier using an optical cable so you can benefit from surround sound.
The 9300T has twin tuners and a clever hard disk storage system that enables you to watch one programme, either live or pre-recorded, whilst recording another, or even to watch two different programmes at the same time with the picture in picture function. However, if you do a lot of recording of single programmes, or of whole series’, you’ll appreciate the main benefit of the PVR-9300T over the PVR-9150T in the increased storage available. The 320Gb hard disk is capable of storing up to 200 hours of television, so you could even record every single episode of The Wire if you wish.
The 9300T comes with the standard Freeview functions of a seven-day electronic programme guide (EPG) and to 48 digital channels. The PVR comes with a remote control which is quite tall, but easy to use and well laid out, and has a slide down flap on the bottom to allow access to less frequently used buttons. There is also an HDMI cable and scart cable included.
What to consider before you buy the Humax PVR-9300T
The PVR-9300T is an additional cost over the Humax PVR-9150T and if you don’t need the extra storage or HDMI socket, it could be a better buy.
Why you should buy the Humax PVR-9300T
For only a small amount extra, the PVR9300T packs in much more storage, but it is the HDMI and optical outputs that make it a real winner for us. Awesome. Rating: /5

I am thinking of purchasing a HUMAX PVR Digital TV Recorder but what I want to know as it has Freeview built in can I record from Freeview and whilst watching Sky as I do not have a Skt+ receiver? or may be record SKY and watch Freeview! or any suggestions what I should purchase.
Yes, you should be able to. Set your TVs input to the Humax, start your recording, and the switch your TV to your Sky’s input. I don’t think you’ll be able to record Sky on the humax though.
I have recently purchased a Humax PVR-9300T. I also have a Sky+ box and a DVD player. Are you aware how I can connect all these items to my freeview TV.
