Boston Acoustics SoundWare XS 5.1

Having already received many plaudits from fans and magazines alike, the Boston Acoustics SoundWare XS 5.1 speaker package offers the features that are at the top of most people’s speakers shopping list: style, integration and price.

The style speaks for itself, the ingenious and cool looking mini cube speakers are not going to dominate any room, and are as much suited to bedrooms as they lounges. The speakers are also available in white so will be even easier to blend into your room’s decor. The speakers have been designed so they will fit in a variety of positions and with the supplied speaker bracket, positioning options are very flexible and you can as easily mount them on a flat wall as you can tuck them right into a corner.

Boston Acoustics SoundWare XS 5.1Selecting speakers is never easy so many people decide to go for an integrated speaker package – this makes perfect sense, and with the Boston Acoustics SoundWare XS 5.1 package, all the speakers have been designed and tested together to ensure you get a fully matched sound. The speakers are real two-way and contain a 64mm woofer and a 13mm tweeter in their compact housing. The subwoofer has a 203mm (8”) driver coupled with a 100W amp, and has built in BassTrac circuitry to help ensure the bass remains deep and powerful and doesn’t distort.

Finally, the price of the Boston Acoustics SoundWare XS 5.1 is one of it’s most appealing features, and for this level of quality, a sub £300 price is somewhat surprising, but very, very welcome.

What to consider before you buy the Boston Acoustics SoundWare XS 5.1

We like the design of the cute little speakers, but they may not be to everyones taste.

    Hello,

Im a bit confused, help! Im looking for speakers etc to get 5.1 surround sound. All I have at the moment is a 37inch tv, a ps3 and a DVD player. Will this Boston package allow me to get surround sound from the Bluray of the PS3 and the DVD player or will I need to purchase other things (amps etc)? I am confused if this system has an amp built in and if it has does it have (or need) HDMI connections to allo me to play the Bluray?

    thanks for your help,

    Mark.

    1. Hi Mark, you would need a separate amp to go with these speakers. Something like the Onkyo TX-SR308 would be ideal, you could plug in your PS3 and DVD player, and more into this to make a very good value system.

  2. How will these speakers perform with music in a stereo format?
    Thanks!
