Sony BDV-E280 Blu-ray Home Cinema System

The Sony BDV-E280 is the latest in Sony’s line of home cinema systems and sits at the budget end of the new 2011/12 range, but still manages to pack in an impressive range of features.

As we’ve seen with the other models in the range such as the more powerful E380, the E280 continues with the shard edged styling creating a visually attractive but timeless looking system. The speakers are all simply styled and at 85mm wide by 220mm high are compact and neutral enough to fit into most home environments.

A full featured 5.1 package

Additionally, it includes full 3D support, allowing you to watch movies or play video games with even more stunning graphics that pop out at you, add depth, and really go the extra mile at immersing you into the setting.

If the visuals are not enough, then rest assured that the Sony BDV-E280 also comes with staggering amount of features. The Bravia Internet Video service is included, allowing for easy streaming of videos and music from the internet, from BBC iPlayer to YouTube, and simple tuners allow you to enhance and adjust the visual and audio quality, no matter how poor they may seem. It can act as a simple web browser too, allowing you to conduct your online business quickly and easily from the comfort of your living room.

Plays much more than DVD and Blu-ray discs…

The system also contains docks that allow you to connect any number of portable media devices, such as the iPod, iPhone, and even simple USB hard drives, for playback on your TV. All of this can be enjoyed with the best sound you can afford, thanks to the satellite speakers that come packaged with the whole ensemble and the latest technology in surround sound to help bring the symphony to you!

And best of all the BDV-E280 valium generic dosage does not require you to be a tech wizard to put together and operate! Just plug the HDMI cables into your television set, satellite/cable box, and/or game console, calibrate your speakers, and you are all set!

What to consider…

If you want to get the full benefits of the Bravia Internet Video feature but cannot connect a physcial network cable to the system, the optional UWA-BR100 Wi-Fi adapter is an additional extra.

Why you should buy the Sony BDV-E280

Visually, the E280 has more conservative styling than it’s more expensive brother, the E380, but this could also be one of it’s redeeming features as it looks like it will stand the test of time for longer. The vast array of features is impressive enough, but at around £300 the value for money this system offers makes it hard to beat. Rating: 4.5/5
