Should you buy the Panasonic SC-PT170 or the SC-PT160?

Following on from our review of the Panasonic SC-PT170 last week, we were somewhat surprised to see the previous model, the SC-PT160 being sold at Marks and Spencer for for £109.

What is slightly unusual about these two models is that the PT170 is actually more subtly styled than the PT160 which has a slightly more ‘glossy’ look about it. Apart from the styling though, and some reductions to the power consumption, the PT170 doesn’t have that much more to offer over its predecessor.

Unless you really don’t like the styling of the PT160, and when you consider that the best price of the Panasonic SC-PT170 is around £70 more expensive, we’d have to recommend going for the previous version whilst you can buy at this price.
